During this workshop, 2 great speakers – Dr. Doris Marquardt and Dr. Sian Astley – explored policy ideas for a secure, data-driven food system!

Dr. Doris Marquardt highlighted challenges and opportunities of data for innovation. She drawn conclusions that:

  • Scaling innovation benefits from considering the need for a business model and legal framing conditions right from the outset.
  • Data-sharing and its effective re-use following a systemic approach is key to exploit the potential of AI. Cross-sectoral data sharing is an additional asset for innovation, society, and the economy.
  • Demonstrate the added value of data sharing and achieving trust are an assets to mobilise data sharing.

Dr. Sian Astley introduced digital solutions through trust, transparency & responsibility in the food system. Dr. Sian Astley offered insights of digital solutions to the food chain through trust promotion, openness, and responsibility.

The workshop brought together people from across the food chain, from citizens to professionals, to identify significant issues in making educated food choices and get feedback on how to enhance data-driven solutions.
