Overview

The SafeNutriKids project is a human-centred initiative combining scientifically driven efforts of partners from Estonia, Bulgaria and Turkey. It aims at delivering AI-driven personalized nutrition education app with a focus on digital literacy for children aged 6-12. This project aims to integrate cutting-edge technology with interactive learning to enhance children’s dietary habits and digital skills, ultimately contributing to better health and responsible digital citizenship.

Technology: SafeNutriKids is developing a baseline technology enabler app, ie an an educational platform driven by AI and zero trust technolog, for personalized diets.

Innovation: SafeNutriKids sets itself apart with its AI-driven approach to personalized nutrition education, specifically tailored for children aged 6-12. Additionally, the platform’s design focuses on inclusivity and accessibility for children from diverse backgrounds.

Impact & Scalability

Impact: Generating over 10,000 personalized nutrition plans for children within the first six months post-launch, in accordance with individual dietary preferences, cultural factors, and health goals in Estonia, Turkey and Bulgaria as pilots.

Scalability:
– Open-source technology
– New modules can be developed by third parties
– Through the network of partners: EIT Food, EUFIC, etc.
– Word of mouth: over 400 children, 200 educators and 800 parents in the pilot from Estonia, Bulgaria and Turkey.

TRAKIA UNIVERSITY BUSINESS E-INCUBATOR GO-UP

The Trakia University or Thrace University (TU) is a Bulgarian university in the city of Stara Zagora. It was named after the historical region of Thrace and was established in 1995. TU has institutional accreditation 9.20 out of 10 and ranks fifth in a ranking of a total of 51 universities in Bulgaria. Within the university structure, the BUSINESS E-INCUBATOR GO-UP is established thanks to Horizon Results Booster of the European Commission, as a mechanism to ensure continuity of the results of TU in framework programme projects in the agrifood domain.
It supports transdisciplinary research and facilitation services in the domains of, cooperativism, social entrepreneurship, impact investment, youth agri-preneurship and venture-building across the whole agri-food value chain; creating smart, green jobs and intelligent employment opportunities for youth; and improving the regional framework through the support and networking of local and regional partners in the public, private, civil-society and academic sectors.

The Sabri Ülker Foundation, established in 2009 to honour the legacy of Sabri Ülker, a luminary in the Turkish food industry and renowned philanthropist, has a steadfast commitment to enhancing public health in Türkiye and internationally. Our involvement in SafeNutriKids is a reflection of our three core pillars: education, research, and communication, through which we promote healthy living, support scientific inquiry, and disseminate valuable knowledge in food and nutrition.
By integrating our extensive experience in educational programs and our collaborative efforts with esteemed global and Turkish institutions, we contribute to developing an environment where children can learn about healthy dietary habits in an engaging and scientifically informed manner. Our role in this project aligns with our dedication to fostering public health through evidence-based initiatives, leveraging our established network and the expertise of our Science Committee to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of the next generation.
